My Peaceful Pond

When we try to find a little peace at my house we head out to the pond.There is so much more to a pond than water.A pond is it’s own Little ecosystem and we can learn a lot from it . Does the water turn green because the pond is out of balance ? Does the pond support our fish and other wildlife? Does the waterfall sound “just right”? All of these things  are important to know. The pond can be a lot of work but when it finally comes together it is one of the most calming things you can imagine! The pond pictured above is of my own design and took about 5 years to complete !

I tend to overkill everything I do and I do not recommend using the concrete/ mortar construction that I used. The pond is way cool and is so balanced that there are no algae blooms and it has only a natural bog as a “filter” There are  Koi in the pond which is an art upon itself. There are MUCH simpler ways to build a Koi pond or just a pond in general. No mater the size or the construction type the joy and peace the pond will bring is well worth the effort and the price. You can search to you hearts content on the Internet and find some great info on pond building but you also get so many opinions as to what is the right way to doi that confusion soon follows! This book lays it all out for you and if you need supplies for a great price plus actual people that will answer your questions  these are the guys to talk to! So build your own little piece of paradise in your backyard. on you deck  or apartment balcony you will not be disappointed!
